Staging Helps Sell Houses Faster and at a Better Price

A seller has a short time to make an impression on a buyer; a typical home buyer decides if they are attracted to a home or not in the first 8-15 seconds of seeing it. Home staging can reduce a listing’s time on the market by half and staged homes tend to sell for higher prices.

Many techniques are used to stage a property: de-cluttering, depersonalizing, updating old or unattractive fixtures, painting, furniture rearrangement, rental furniture and accessorizing are just some of the changes used to make a home more inviting to potential buyers. The focus is on creating an inviting atmosphere, helping potential buyers realize what can actually be done with the place and improving the homes appeal to more buyers.

Staging is not about deluding the buyer. It should be focused on making the seller accountable for what they are selling. Staged homes frequently sell for more dollars because improvements that needed to be made are made. Great staging is evaluating a property for sale and correcting its flaws to allow the new buyer more of a turn-key approach to buying a home. It is also understanding that selling a house is a competition and staging helps to make the house stand out from the competition.

Each one of our new listings include a home staging consultation paid for by us. Dana Neeld and Melanie Reinhardt of Staging Spaces will visit your property and after consulting with you they will provide a custom written report detailing all the items that were discussed. They are also available to return for a follow-up visit to check on the execution of the items. If you prefer not to do the work, Dana and Melanie will provide a price to return and complete the staging.
