I have to admit— I had forgotten how beautiful Philadelphia’s waterfront is.
Yesterday I decided it was finally time to get a little cardio exercise in. I put on my iPod, blew the dust off my sneakers and headed for the great outdoors.
I live near Penn’s Landing and headed in that direction. There weren’t a lot of people out so I was able to walk at my own pace. And it really was a lovely walk
With the Moshulu & the USS Olympia on one side of me and the USS New Jersey on the other side, with Philadelphia’s skyline on one side and Campbell’s Field on the other I really didn’t want to stop walking. There’s so much to see and so many things for people to do. We have the Seaport Museum here and across the Delaware River you can visit the Aquarium. If you’re not claustrophobic you can visit the Becuna, the submarine that’s parked near here too.
In winter we have the skating rink and in the summer we have outdoor concerts, many of them free.
Philadelphia is a great place to live. And in typical Philadelphia fashion, many of us take it for granted. Get out there and enjoy it!
