We have 4 or 5 first time home buyers who are all in the same price range and all want to be in the same area – Passyunk Sq/East Passyunk Crossing.
No wonder. It’s a great area. The homes are still reasonably priced. Some need work while others have been fixed up a little. The area has so much going on now – cafes, restaurants, a gym – and I see buyers getting excited about where they are and what they are looking at.
But there aren’t a lot of homes in the lower price range. In fact, there seem to be more buyers than homes available.
I showed a home less than a week ago. It’s sold already. When a buyer in Passyunk Square sees a place they really like – they have to move on it – fast!
I know it’s a big decision to make but if you’ve seen enough homes and you finally come across the “one” that speaks to you don’t hesitate. Even in this market, it might be gone the next day.
Good luck buying your first home – but remember – you’re not the only one out there.
